Project

The University of Nottingham - Kings Meadow Campus

Wall mounted directional signage

The University of Nottingham acquired the Kings Meadow Campus following the departure of Granada TV from the purpose made studios built to house Central TV in the 1980's.
The campus enjoys a contemporary style with wide corridors and open plan areas. This challenged the Caliba survey team for an imaginative wayfinding scheme with equally imaginative signage designs.
Main department entrances were marked with wall fixed posts as vertical markers using the 100mm APCO contour extrusion. Wall mounted directories utilised the curved Arcadia range.
Door demarcations had nameplates from the same Arcadia system, this time with paper inserts managed by the client.
The result is an extremely well designed wayfinding system but in this case the signs are attractive, in harmony with the surroundings and ambience of the campus site
