Center Parcs - DDA & village wayfinding - RNIB 'Map for All'

RNIB appraisal at Sherwood Forest Holiday Village

Caliba's long standing relationship with Center Parcs originates from construction of it's first UK holiday village at Sherwood Forest in July 1987. Challenged by the Head Office Operational team's request to align village wayfinding to compliment the investment into new Accessible accommodation, Caliba proposed a range of DDA compliant signage including the new 'Map for All' designed by the RNIB. This proved a perfect solution as first prototypes were provided for appraisal at Sherwood, followed by the roll out of the full package of signs and maps at the other four UK villages.
The Maps are manufactured by Caliba, who perfected the product to suit rugged and outdoor conditions.
Caliba worked with the RNIB on the survey of each site. After design of the maps and issue of drawings and location visuals the signs were manufactured and installed by the Caliba teams. The maps are housed in purpose made timber constructed shelters with overhead illumination.
