Recognition for Caliba for the new Redcar and Cleveland College
Caliba, the renowned experts in specialist brand and wayfinding signage manufacture have been recognised by receiving a prestigious award from Redcar and Cleveland College for helping deliver the new £26million state of the art building.
The award was given for what Principal Gary Groom described as “commitment, focus, enthusiasm, pride and passion by their teams of staff and key individuals.”
Project Manager Phillip Mitchell headed a Caliba team who designed, manufactured and installed external and internal branding, directional and accessible signs throughout the site. The signs ranged from external halo illuminated high level building signs, totems and directional signs to internal directory and directional Braille and Tactile signs, window graphics and banners.

Philip Mitchell commented, “ Caliba have a deserved reputation as a leading provider of signs for Schools, Colleges and Universities . Redcar and Cleveland have seen how our experience and know-how in these areas have paid dividend to quality and performance.”
“ We are, however, very proud of this award and thank the College and Architect team for their support. We enjoyed this major project very much and are delighted the results have been recognised in this way” he added
The three-year project was completed at the end of 2008, when the College’s 5,500 full and part-time students and 250 staff occupied the new building for the first time
Mr Groom said: “This landmark building changes the face of Redcar and Cleveland and the lives of so many people within the borough for now and for generations to come.”
